Miami To Broward Is Fla.'s Biggest Migration Flow

ORLANDO (CBSMiami/AP) — In 2011, nearly 25,000 residents moved from Miami-Dade County to Broward County, making it the largest county-to-county migration in Florida.

The U.S. Census Bureau released figures on Thursday ranking the migration of former Miami-Dade residents into Broward County as the sixth biggest county-to-county migration flow in the nation.

The only ranking higher than that was migrations flowing  into and out of Los Angeles and surrounding counties.

But more than 11,000 Broward residents moved to Miami-Dade in 2011, so Broward had a net gain of only 13,000 residents from Miami-Dade County.

Other large net gains in Florida came from Caribbean residents moving to Miami-Dade County, Hillsborough County residents moving to Pasco County in metro Tampa and Orange County residents moving to Osceola County in metro Orlando.
