MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- Investigators are trying to determine what led to a shooting outside of a Miami nightclub that killed one and left three others hospitalized.
It happened around 6:15 a.m. Saturday, September 10th, at "El Romance Restaurant & Nightclub" at 3451 N.W. 36th Street.
Four people total were shot, just feet from the club.
"There appears to have been some sort of argument where there was an exchange of gunfire," said Miami Police officer Rene Pimental.
Residents say the venue is notorious for violence.
"This happens like every week at that club. So it's a regular around here," said a woman who lives nearby. "It makes you don't wanna come out your house. This is usually a quiet neighborhood, but every time that club opens across the street, somebody is always getting shot, killed, like every other week."
One of the victims died at the scene. The three others were taken to Jackson Memorial Ryder Trauma Center by Miami Fire Rescue. One of them is in critical condition and the other two, including a female, remain in stable condition.
A fifth victim, police said, broke his leg as he tried to escape by jumping a fence.
Detectives said there was more than one shooter, although a motive still remains unclear.
