MIAMI (CBSMiami) - Miami Lakes Mayor Michael Pizzi is suing the town for millions of dollars in legal fees.
Pizzi is demanding the town pay $3.2 million associated with his federal criminal case and reinstatement, according to CBS4 news partner The Miami Herald.
In 2014, Pizzi was acquitted of federal bribery charges and then fought, and won, to be reinstated as mayor. He wants the town's insurance to pay up to avoid passing the bill along to taxpayers.
It's not clear if the whole amount will be covered by insurance.
