Miami Herald Names First Female President & Publisher
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – A historic day for CBS4's news partners at the Miami Herald as the first female in the company's history was announced as president and publisher.
Alexandra Villoch, who has been the senior vice president for advertising and marketing at the Miami Herald Media Company since 2005, and with the company since 2000, was introduced Monday morning to the entire staff.
Villoch is replacing David Landsberg who announced his departure to become CEO of Goodwill Industries of South Florida less than a month ago.

"I'm extremely excited and deeply honored," Villoch told the Miami Herald. "We have a talented, innovative and passionate team — and together we will work to carry out our mission of serving our diverse and vibrant community with quality journalism and products across all media platforms. I look forward to working to strengthen our position and grow our reach."
Villoch will begin her new role April 14th. Villoch is the first female publisher in the Miami Herald's 110-year history.
She graduated from Miami Dade College, and then earned a bachelor's degree in political science and an MBA from the University of Miami.
Villoch, fluent in Spanish, was born in Cuba and moved to the U.S. when she was two-years-old. She attended Miami-Dade College and then went-on to the University of Miami where she earned a bachelor's degree in political science and an MBA.
