Miami Heat Releases Henry Walker

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – The Miami Heat have been very busy on Monday, officially announcing a pair or trades and now the release of a third player.
In addition to the trade of Shabazz Napier to the Orlando Magic and the trade of Zoran Dragic to the Boston Celtics, the Heat have waived forward Henry Walker.
Although the 15-man roster doesn't need to be set until before the regular season, the team was facing an August 1 deadline for players with partial guaranteed contracts. Besides Walker, this includes James Ennis, Tyler Johnson, and Hassan Whiteside.
Walker split time between the Heat and their NBA D-League affiliate, the Sioux Falls Skyforce, last season.
With Miami, Walker appeared in 24 games and started 13 of them. He averaged 7.3 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.2 assists while playing 26.1 minutes per game. He shot 34.5 percent from the field and 34.1 percent from three-point range.
During those games Walker led the team in steals six times, in blocks four times, in rebounds twice and once in assists.
His best game in a Heat uniform came in the season finale when he scored 21 points on 6-for-10 shooting, adding four rebounds and two assists. All ten of his shots came from beyond the three-point line.
As for his time in the D-League, Walker appeared in 17 games with the Skyforce, starting 8. He averaged 15.1 points on 46.8 percent shooting, 3.9 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 27.8 minutes.
Miami's roster now stands at 14, not counting unsigned rookie guard Josh Richardson.
