MIAMI (CBSMiami) - The Miami Dolphins have traded quarterback Ryan Tannehill to the Tennessee Titans in exchange for a 2020 4th round pick and a swap of 6th and 7th round picks in this year's draft. In Tennessee, Tannehill will back up starter Marcus Mariota. The move leaves the team with just two quarterbacks on their roster currently in Jake Rudock and David Fales.

The 30-year-old Tannehill will reportedly have his contract restructured in Tennessee to pay him a guaranteed $7 million with a chance to make an additional $12 million in incentives. His contract was originally set for $18.7 million for the upcoming season prior to the restructure.
He missed five games this past season due to a shoulder injury but was able to return for the team's final five games leading the club to a 7-9 record. In 11 starts, he completed 64.2 percent of his passes for 1,979 yards and 17 touchdowns and nine interceptions.
The past two seasons have been marred by injuries as Tannehill missed all of the 2017 season due to a knee injury suffered in training camp.
In six years as the starter in Miami, the former first round pick threw for 20,324 yards with 123 touchdowns while completing 62 percent of his passes. He led the team to a 10-6 record and a playoff appearance in 2016 where they were ousted in the Wild Card round.
