Miami Dolphins Defensive Lineman Derrick Shelby Reinstated
DAVIE (CBSMiami) — Miami Dolphins reserve defensive lineman Derrick Shelby is back on the team.
The Dolphins reinstated Shelby from his suspension Tuesday, which came after he was arrested on misdemeanor charges of resisting arrest and trespassing at a Fort Lauderdale nightclub.
Shelby's reinstatement was announced Tuesday, eight days after he was suspended indefinitely.

"We have completed our process and have made the determination to reinstate Derrick. Derrick understood that he would be held accountable for his actions as they did not represent our organizational standards," said head coach Joe Philbin in a statement.
Shelby has pleaded not guilty to the charges. The third-year veteran played in the first four games this season but missed Sunday's loss to Green Bay.
"I want to apologize to Stephen Ross, Coach Philbin, my teammates and our fans. I accept responsibility for the distraction I caused the team last week. I have learned from my past actions and am fully committed to representing the Dolphins organization in a first-class manner on and off the field," said Shelby in a statement.
