Miami-Dade PD releases sketch of man wanted for attempted sexual battery
MIAMI – The Miami-Dade Police Department has released a sketch of man wanted for attempted sexual battery.
"At 9:30 in the morning to do this to a woman is something that we take very seriously. He could do it to a woman, to a male or to children. We need the community's assistance to get this man as soon as possible," said Det. Argemis Colome with the Miami-Dade Police Department.
The woman was jogging Saturday in the area of SW 96 Street and SW 148 Place when the suspect approached her from behind, covered their mouth and fondled her. She was able to fight him off and escape.
"Very, very shocked. Like from a 1 to 10, 10, 100% like that is very shocking," said Angelina Masullo, who walks the area.
Wednesday evening, there were a lot of walkers and joggers out and about in the neighborhood. News of the attack left many uneasy.
Diana Perez said she exercises in the area almost every day.
"It's really scary. I don't know what to say. Wow," she said.
She has always felt safe here, until now.
The suspect, who is believed to be in his 20s, has medium-length brown hair, stands about 6-feet 1-inches tall and has a thin build. He was wearing a white-long sleeve shirt and blue jogging pants.
