Miami-Dade detectives shot at during traffic stop

MIAMI - Detectives with Miami-Dade police came under fire during a traffic stop

According to police, Tuesday night just after 11:30 p.m. a Hyundai sedan failed to stop at a red light at NE 150th Street and NE 6th Avenue.

Robbery Intervention Unit detectives in the area attempted to conduct a traffic stop. As the driver sped off, the front passenger extended his arm outside of the window and fired multiple shots towards the officers.

The car came to a stop at NE 123rd Street and NE 13th Avenue and the four people inside bailed out.

A perimeter was set up and they were taken into custody. A gun was also recovered.

No officers were injured during the incident.  No officers were injured during the incident.
