Miami-Dade Police Arrest Five In Fake Officer Gear

MIAMI (CBSMiami/AP) — Miami-Dade Police arrested five men which they spotted changing into phony police clothing and gear inside of a car.

Authorities said the men had hats and shirts with the word "police" on them, authentic-looking badges, handcuffs and other law enforcement items. They also had two semi-automatic handguns and an air pistol.

The men were spotted Monday at a public park by an undercover unit of the Miami-Dade Police Department. Once they got into a car to leave, police pulled over the vehicle and arrested the five men. It's not clear what they were doing with the law enforcement gear.

The men, ranging in age from 23 to 54, face several charges including resisting arrest, carrying concealed weapons, loitering and prowling.
