Parents Tied Up, Robbed During Armed Home Invasion, 5-Year Old Child Not Hurt
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Miami-Dade police are searching for two men involved in an armed home invasion robbery in West Miami-Dade.
According to Miami-Dade police spokesman Alvaro Zabaleta, a 43-year-old mother was about to take her 5-year-old daughter to school when two masked men with guns, approached them in the driveway of the home on SW 130th Avenue and 30th Street.
It was just after 8:00 a.m. when the gunmen forced the woman and child back inside the house, where they tied her up along with her husband. The little girl, police said, was not touched.
The husband was assaulted and struck at least one time causing minor injuries.
After ransacking the home, the bad guys eventually left with cash and personal property and took off in the family's 2019 Land Rover.
The abandoned Land Rover was found two blocks away, but the armed invaders were gone.
Police hope surveillance cameras in the area will help them track down the suspects.
