Miami-Dade opens evacuation center for mobile home residents

MIAMI: Mayor Daniella Levine Cava on Monday announced the opening of an evacuation center for residents of mobile home parks who are voluntarily evacuating because of impacts from Hurricane Milton.

The E. Darwin Fuchs Pavilion, 10901 Coral Way in Miami, will open at 10 a.m. Tuesday. It is a pet-friendly evacuation center. The county  has a list of items to bring.

People are encouraged to stay with friends and family members if they are voluntarily evacuating.  

Miami-Dade Transit will provide transportation. Call the 311 Contact Center to coordinate your pickup location. The center has extended hours until 10 p.m. Monday and from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesday.
