Miami Beach Officials Investigate Suspicious Package On Bus

MIAMI BEACH (CBSMiami) – Miami Beach officials investigated a suspicious package that was found on a bus Saturday afternoon.

Just after 3 p.m., the package was detonated by police and was not considered a threat.

The scene unfolded near 17^th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue just after noon Saturday.

Eastbound 17^th Street had to be shut down west of Washington Avenue as the bomb squad arrived to investigate.

Miami-Dade Transit authorities reported no one was on the county bus at the time and therefore no injuries were reported.
