ME Rules Missing Teen's Death A Homicide

MIAMI (CBSMiami/AP) - The Miami-Dade Medical Examiner's Office has ruled a teen, whose body was found in a wooded area near his home, was murdered.

On Sunday, June 28th, the family of 17-year old Jose Santos Amaya Guardado reported him missing to the police.

On Wednesday July 1st, Guardado's brother found what appeared to be a partially buried body in a wooded area 111th Avenue and SW 173rd Street and called police.

Police were able to make a positive ID and confirmed that it was the missing teen. Guardado's body was taken to the ME's office which determined he died of trauma.

Police are now looking for witnesses so they can piece together what led to Guardado's death.
