MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- Miami Marlins slugger Giancarlo Stanton is reportedly out for weeks due to a hand injury.

Stanton broke a bone in his left hand during Friday night's game against the LA Dodgers.

According to ESPN.com, Stanton will miss four to six weeks due to the injury.

Stanton is expected to have surgery, according to Fox Sports. The surgery would keep him out for at least a month.

During Friday night's game, Stanton hurt his hand on a swing and miss in the sixth inning. His hand later appeared to be swollen.

Stanton had said the pain felt worse as the game went on.

His absence may be a hit to the already struggling Marlins who are set to play against the LA Dodgers again on Saturday.
