MIAMI (CBSMiami) – The Miami Marlins 2015 season has been a big disappointment.
Expectations of a playoff run quickly dissipated as the team stumbled out of the gate and never regained its footing.
While the Marlins front office has said that there is no plan to start trading away some of the team's veteran players with expiring contracts, that tune could be changing in the near future.
According to FOX Sports, the Marlins have received several trade inquiries for veteran starting pitchers Mat Latos and Dan Haren.
Both pitchers are set to be free agents following the season.
The non-waiver trade deadline is July 31st and unless the Marlins turn things around in a hurry, the team could look to unload the pending free agents in order to acquire younger assets that are under contract for the next several years.
Miami currently holds a 31-46 record, sitting 11.5 games back in the National League East and 11 games back in the Wild Card race.
Only Milwaukee (29-48) and Philadelphia (27-50) have worse records than the Marlins in the National League.
