Margate police locate missing man Gregory Whitney
FORT LAUDERDALE - Margate police have located a missing man who they say may have been in need of assistance.
Late Tuesday evening, police has asked for help in finding Gregory Whitney, 58, who had left his home earlier in day in a white Dodge Ram pick-up truck. Before leaving, he texted his wife several times stating that he wanted to die.
While officers were on the scene, Whitney called his wife and said, "I'm going to kill someone tonight." Officers believed he was armed with a handgun.
Police have not said where Whitney was found but said he was "safely recovered."
