TORONTO (AP) — The Toronto Maple Leafs have acquired forward Zach Hyman and a conditional 2017 seventh-round pick from the Florida Panthers for forward Greg McKegg on Friday.

Hyman was an All-American at Michigan. He led the Big Ten in scoring last season with 54 points (22 goals, 32 assists).

The Toronto native was also a top 10 finalist for the Hobey Baker Award, given annually to college hockey's top player.

McKegg was selected in the third round, No, 62 overall, by Toronto in the 2010 NHL entry draft. He had 19 goals and 28 assists in 65 games last season with the AHL's Toronto Marlies. McKegg also appeared in three games with the Maple Leafs, with no points.
