Man Wanted For Questioning In Missing Mom's Disappearance Turns Himself In
FT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) - Ft. Lauderdale police report Carl Watts turned himself in Friday afternoon on outstanding federal warrants.
The department received word of Watts in custody from the U.S. Marshals Service.
Police reported via Twitter that detectives are making arrangements to Watts to him in reference to Trukita Scott also known as "Kita".
They have been wanting to question him since Scott disappeared last Wednesday after she did not show-up to get her children from daycare.
Watts is the ex-boyfriend of Scott.
Earlier in the week, officers located the gold Nissan Altima at NW 40th Street and NW 10th Avenue in Miami.
The car's location was 24 miles from Fort Lauderdale, according to officials.
Scott's parents realized something was wrong last week when her children's school called and asked why had she picked them up.
The family told CBS4 Scott has year-old son and three-year-old daughter.
Carl Watts, the boy's father, was accused of trying to kidnap a 16-year-old girl from a bus stop last month. He was arrested on the charge and bonded out of jail.
Scott's finance Al Livingston is the father of the couple's daughter.
Last Wednesday, he said they exchanged text messages from the moment "Kita" left the house. "Baby I love you and miss you already," Livingston read from his text messages.
He said the last message he got was just after three in the afternoon. "The last thing that at 3:19 I said, 'I love you so much beautiful' and she text back at 4:00 and said 'I love you too bae'."
