Man Lost 3 Fingers When Firecracker Exploded In Hand

POMPANO BEACH (CBSMiami) — A Pompano Beach man lost three fingers when a firecracker exploded in his hand.

The man lit the firecracker in front of a house in the 5100 block of Northeast 18th Terrace just before 8:30 p.m. Sunday night.

"When paramedics arrived they found a 28-year old man that had blown off three of his fingers on his right hand, severely burned his left hand, including two fingers. He had burns to his face, his torso and his hair," said Pompano Beach Fire Rescue Sandra King.

The did not release man's name but King said he's in "rough shape."
