Man Kills Girlfriend On Valentine's Day, Makes It Look Like Suicide
DANIA BEACH (CBSMiami) -- A day of love turned deadly for one Florida couple after a man allegedly killed his girlfriend Friday morning in a Dania Beach motel.
According to Broward Sheriff's Office, Carlos Cadavid, shot his new girlfriend, whom he has only known for four days, then allegedly staged the crime scene to make it look like a suicide.
He then reported the fake suicide to BSO.
Deputies on the scene notified homicide detectives after they noticed the physical evidence in the room at the Grand Motel did not seem to add up to a suicide.
The Broward County Medical Examiner's office ruled the woman's death a homicide after they performed an autopsy.
According to deputies, Cadavid admitted to detectives Friday afternoon that he killed his girlfriend.
Cadavid is charged with first-degree murder.
