Man killed, woman hospitalized after horrific SW Miami-Dade crash

MIAMI - One person was killed, and a second person was taken to a hospital, after an early morning hit-and-run crash in southwest Miami-Dade.

According to Miami-Dade police, three vehicles collided at LeJeune Road and SW 8 Street around 3:30 a.m.

When Miami Fire Rescue arrived, they found that a 29-year-old man who had been driving one of the vehicles had died. A woman who had been driving a second vehicle was injured and taken to Coral Gables Hospital where she was listed as stable.

Police said the driver of the third vehicle, a white SUV, ran off after the crash.

"Oh my God, are you kidding me? Like anybody's reaction, it is horrible, horrible, you know," said a man who lives in the area

Miami-Dade police said their Traffic Homicide Unit determined the initial point of the crash took place in the city of Miami's jurisdiction. So, the investigation has been turned over to Miami police.

The search is on for the driver that fled. Police have not released information on the cause of the crash.
