Man hospitalized following early morning stabbing in Deerfield Beach

Man stabbed after leaving Deerfield Beach club early Sunday

DEERFIELD BEACH — Deputies are investigating a stabbing early Sunday morning in Broward County that left one man hospitalized.

Around 4:30 a.m., Broward County Regional Communications received a report about a stabbing that happened around the 800 block of West Sample Road in Deerfield Beach, prompting a response from Broward County Sheriff's Office deputies and Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue.

Upon arrival, deputies found a man who had been stabbed and paramedics transported him to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The man's girlfriend described the attack as random and shocking.

"We were coming out of a nearby establishment and a person approached him and stabbed him. It wasn't a fight. We were walking and simply don't know what happened. We don't know if this person was drugged, we don't know why he attacked him," she said.

Other people who work in the area said there was an argument between the man and the person who attacked him prior to the stabbing.

The man's girlfriend said neither she nor her boyfriend knew the man.

Anyone with any information regarding it should call BSO or Broward Crime Stoppers at (954) 493-TIPS (8477).
