OCALA (CBSMiami/AP) — Waiving your gun around for fun is never a good idea.
A 20-year-old man is facing manslaughter charges in the shooting death of a former Florida kicker.
Ocala police say Jefferson Guinn IV was arrested Sunday on a manslaughter charge after the death of Daniel Krysalka, who was on the Gators' 2013 roster but never played.
Officers found Krysalka's body lying in the upstairs bedroom of a house in Ocala, with a gunshot wound to the head.
Officers found two guns lying on the floor near Krysalka's body, and Guinn was visibly distraught and crying.
Police say Guinn had been criticized for waving his pistol at a recent party.
Police say Guinn pointed his gun at Krysalka and was making fun of people criticizing his party pistol waving when the gun discharged.
Attorney Stacy Youmans says Guinn is grieving his friend's death and wishes the best for Krysalka's family.
Guinn was released on $30,000 bond.
