Locals Shaken By Paris Terror Attacks

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – "The loveliness of Paris" was shattered Friday night. Scores are dead. A curfew is in place. The French borders are closed. And what is so far away is so close to home.
For French-born restaurant owner George Farge, that is not the Paris he knows.
"You are of that mind it does not feel that safe. What happened to today never, never believe what happened," he said.
"The City of Light" has gone dim, and for Parisians living in South Florida it's too difficult to get their heads around.
"I feel sad, but there is nothing I can do," a French local told CBS4's Hank Tester.
The concern is not just for Paris, but for all of Europe – with the uncertainty wearing on those there and those here.
"Living in Europe has become a very dangerous life," said Anne Digemose.
Through the night the tragedy unfolds, watched thousands of miles away by those who know and love the city ripping at the heart strings.
Parisian Latifia Cliff-Belaydi can't understand why her beloved hometown of all places.
"Why Paris? It happened in New York. Why, why? I don't know why there are some crazy people. They think they are doing the right thing."
This is the second Paris terror attack in 10 months. Staffers and cartoonists from a Paris satirical magazine were gunned down by terrorists offended by the magazine's cartoons.
"It makes you think twice. Terrorism, there are no borders. It could be anywhere and it is scary," said Kathy Fox.
