MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- With no flights or cargo ships connecting South Florida to West Africa, there's no reason to be concerned of a case in the area but every reason to be prepared.
Miami International Airport finalized its Ebola response plan this week but what about Latin America to where we have the most number of international flights?
South Florida Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen is worried about a possible threat from Cuba.
"There are Cuban doctors that are being sent to West Africa. They are treating Ebola victims. What will happen to those doctors? Some of them may be coming here, so let's keep our eye on that," said Ros-Lehtinen.
The Republican said she doesn't believe there is a threat to South Florida but she worried the threat could enter the area from points South where protocols may not be as stringent.
