Legislature Honors Seminoles Championship
TALLAHASSEE (CBSMiami) - The Florida Legislature took time out of normal business Tuesday to honor the BCS National Champion Florida State Seminoles.
Heisman-winning quarterback Jameis Winston was recognized with his own resolutions in the House and Senate Tuesday.
During their first stop in the House, Coach Jimbo Fisher presented Speaker Will Weatherford with a Florida State jersey.
Also representing the team: Athletic director Stan Wilcox, Robert Aguayo, Terrance Smith, Jalen Ramsey, P.J. Williams, Karlos Williams, Tre Jackson, Josue Matias, Eddie Goldman, Kermit Whitfield, Mario Edwards Jr., Mario Edwards Jr. and Cam Erving.
House members lined up afterward to take pictures with the team, which then moved across the hall to be honored by the Senate.
The Seminoles are scheduled to meet with Gov. Rick Scott and receive the Governor's Sports Award later in the afternoon.
