FT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) - Lauderdale Police Need Help Finding Missing Woman
Ed Shields said his wife, 46-year-old Cherie Solomon, hasn't been seen since last Monday, March 26th.
"I'm concerned to the point of not sleeping. Her sister's a basket case. I got a whole church full of people who aren't sleeping who are crying and I'm extremely concerned," said Shields.
Shields said Cherie is in recovery for a recent drug overdose and was on medication. She ran out and he said she began to act strangely, possibly because of the medication or of lack of it.
"It said that she might suffer from an altered mental state, to look out for symptoms of confusion and lack of motor skills and what not. I did see some of those things," he said.
Cherie was last seen at the Walgreens on State Road 84 at SW 4th Avenue in Fort Lauderdale trying to fill her prescription. Shields has no idea what happened to her after that.
"I'm just concerned somebody saw a girl walking around confused and saw an opportunity to pretend to be somebody that was helpful," he said.
Making this even more odd, Shields said Easter has always been a special holiday for them.
"This is our first time that Holy Week that we haven't spent up at church. We go Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and we usually go to the Eater vigil rather than Easter mass on Sunday.
Shields, who is 5'06" and weighs about 180 pounds, was last seen wearing a bikini cover up top, shorts, and combat boots.
Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to contact the police at (954) 828-5581.
