Kevin Durant Chooses To Sign With Golden State

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – The biggest free agent splash of 2016 has been made.
Kevin Durant was the most coveted player in the NBA this summer and after a three day tour that saw him meet with five teams, including the Miami Heat, a decision was made public late Monday morning.
Durant has decided to sign with the Golden State Warriors, spurning his former team in Oklahoma City.
Golden State has been to back-to-back NBA Finals, winning the title in 2015 and coming within a game of winning last month.
The Warriors also set an NBA record last season with 73 wins.
Durant joins a team already featuring two of the best shooters in league history, Steph Curry and Klay Thompson.
The deal isn't as big as some would've thought as Durant signed a two-year deal worth $54.3 million that includes a player option for the second year, meaning he'll once again be a free agent at the age of either 28 or 29.

As for Pat Riley and the Heat, the focus now shifts back to Dwyane Wade who has been fielding offers from several teams around the league.
Miami has already convinced center Hassan Whiteside to sign a long-term deal to remain with the Heat.
