Fireworks At Biltmore Hotel Light Up Sky On Fourth Of July
CORAL GABLES (CBSMiami) – Fireworks in Coral Gables attracted an estimated crowd of 25,000 from around South Florida Friday night to celebrate Independence Day.
"It is wonderful with the concerts and all the people of all different cultures, all different ages. this is what america is about," said Carol Bernstein.
Bernstein lived in Cuba and says she feels lucky to live in the United States.
"It was a lot different and I just see where there is so much opportunity here," said Bernstein. "No matter where you come from, you can really have a chance to advance."
The Star Spangled Banner played throughout the crowd adding to the patriotic feeling at the fireworks show.
"And when The Star Spangled Banner came on and everyone stood up, that's what makes this county so wonderful," added Bernstein.
The concert for the big show was by the Greater Miami Symphonic Band.
Richard Atwood served in the Air Force.
"It's a day that we all, no matter what our differences, we kind of get it together and share our love for this country," he said.
To help people celebrate the Fourth of July, Coral Gables offered free parking and continuous shuttle service to and from the Biltmore Hotel. The shuttle service began at 5 p.m.
Bike valet was offered too.
