Jeter In Lineup As DH For Farewell Game At Fenway Park

BOSTON (AP) – Derek Jeter is listed as the designated hitter and batting second for the New York Yankees when they play the Boston Red Sox in the final game of his 20-year career.

There had been some question if the 40-year-old shortstop would play Sunday after he seemed to tweak his hamstring running to first base the day before.

This will be Jeter's 153rd game at Fenway Park, breaking a tie with Lou Gehrig and Mickey Mantle for most among Yankees.

Jeter was given a rousing farewell at Yankee Stadium on Thursday. He sat out Friday night's series opener in Boston. The Yankee captain went 1 for 2 on Saturday, drawing standing ovations from the Fenway crowd as fans - in the spirit of those at Yankee Stadium - chanted "De-rek Je-ter! De-rek Je-ter!"
