Jaguars Awarded TE Shuler Off Waivers From Falcons

JACKSONVILLE (AP) — The Jacksonville Jaguars have been awarded second-year tight end Mickey Shuler off waivers from the Atlanta Falcons.

The Jaguars waived rookie tight end Marcel Jensen to make room for Shuler on the 53-man roster.

Shuler spent the preseason with Atlanta before being waived Saturday. Originally a seventh-round draft pick by Minnesota in 2010, Shuler also spent time with Miami, Oakland, Arizona and Buffalo.

He played in six games with the Dolphins in 2010, catching two passes for 44 yards.

Shuler spent four seasons at Penn State as a blocking tight end, finishing his college career with 27 receptions for 300 yards and three touchdowns.
