CORAL GABLES (CBSMiami) – The news isn't all good around the Miami Hurricanes Men's Basketball Season as the new season draws closer.

Junior guard Rashad Muhammad was suspended for the first three games of the season for violating team rules.

Muhammad will miss games against Western Carolina, North Florida and Penn. He'll be eligible to play when the Hurricanes face Stanford on November 24th.

After leading San Jose State in scoring for two straight seasons, Muhammad transferred to Miami and sat out the 2015-16 season due to NCAA transfer rules.

Miami's season opener against Western Carolina is Friday night at 7 p.m. at the Watsco Center in Coral Gables.
