Hurricane Ophelia Creeping To Northeast

MIAMI (CBSMiami) - Hurricane Ophelia continues to move at a snails pace over the northeastern Atlantic.
At 11 a.m., the center of the storm was about 715 miles southwest of the Azores.
Ophelia was barely moving to the north-northeast at 2 mph with maximum sustained winds of 90 mph with higher gusts. Hurricane-force winds extend outward up to 25 miles from the center and tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 70 miles.
A slow northeastward motion is expected to begin later today, followed by a faster east-northeastward motion on Friday and Saturday. Little change in strength is expected over the next 48 hours.
While there are no coastal watches or warnings in effect for Ophelia, interests in the eastern Azores should monitor the progress of the storm.
