MIAMI (CBSMiami) – For some of the travelers passing through Miami International Airport, terrorism in the news is becoming all too familiar.
"It's just the way things are going now," Ron Barrett said.
Barret told CBS4's Tiani Jones he tries "not to get worried because you don't want to get that panicked feeling on the plane and then you can't go anywhere."
He added, "You just try and go about your business... get there safely."
A terrorist attack in a Turkish airport is not slowing down passenger traffic at U.S. airports, including Miami International.
The attack at one of the world's busiest airports in Istanbul also comes right before a busy holiday travel weekend in the U.S.
Several heavily armed police officers carrying machine guns can be found roaming the MIA terminals and outside the airport.
It's a sight that some passengers are accustomed to seeing in other parts of the world.
"I see it in the Virgin Islands, so it's not surprising to me," said traveler Lloyd Samuel.
The U.S. State Department warned U.S. citizens about increased terrorist threats throughout Turkey, and to avoid travel to southeastern Turkey.
In spite of Tuesday's attacks, passengers CBS4 talked to say their travel plans are staying the same.
"Not really concerned," Samuel said. "I just say if somethings going to happen, it's going to happen. That's how I think."
