MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- The Miami Heat announced on Wednesday that guard Dion Waiters is expected to miss some playing time due to a Pectineus tear.

He'll be re-evaluated in two weeks, team officials said.

Waiters sat out for the first time this season on Nov. 28 vs. Boston due to a right groin strain.

He's started all 16 games this year in which he was available, averaging 14.2 points, 4 assists and 3.4 rebounds in 31.8 minutes per game.

The fifth-year guard from Syracuse University currently leads the HEAT in field goals attempted and ranks second in points scored, field goals made, three-point field goals made and attempted, assists, minutes played and starts.
