MIAMI (CBSMiami) – The Miami Heat are bringing back one of their former draft picks…again.

The Heat announced on Thursday that they have signed former first round pick Michael Beasley to a 10-day contract.

Beasley, 26, played with the Heat last season, appearing in 55 games and averaging 7.9 points and 3.1 rebounds in 15.1 minutes.

Most recently Beasley played overseas in the Chinese Basketball Association's Shanghai Sharks.

He had a very good season in China, averaging 27.1 points, 10.4 rebounds, 5.2 assists and 1.9 steals while shooting 51.3 percent from the field in 37 games.

Beasley was named to the CBA All-Star Game and came off the bench to score a record 59 points, capturing MVP honors.

This will be Beasley's third stint with the Heat.  He was originally drafted second overall in the 2008 NBA Draft but was eventually traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves in July of 2010 following the Heat's signing of LeBron James.
