PORT ST. LUCIE (CBSMiami/AP) – With one week left until Opening Day, the Miami Marlins are hoping to work out any final kinks during their remaining Spring Training games.
For their sake, hopefully they got most of them out of the way on Monday against the New York Mets.
Michael Cuddyer hit his sixth home run this spring and Lucas Duda homered, doubled and drove in five runs as the Mets beat the Marlins 7-1.
Duda homered in the fourth inning. He added a three-run double in the sixth and Cuddyer, who signed with the Mets in the offseason, followed with his home run.
Mets starter Rafael Montero threw six scoreless innings, allowing only two hits. He struck out six and walked none.
Marlins starter Dan Haren gave up seven runs in 5 1-3 innings. Haren allowed six hits, struck out four and walked one.
