Hammer Attack Hospitalizes Woman, Husband Arrested

MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- A woman was left in serious condition after she was allegedly attacked by her husband with a hammer in their Miami home.
It happened early Saturday morning at an apartment complex at 635 S.W. 7th Court.
Miami Police said they responded to a report of a woman screaming inside an apartment. Upon their arrival, they could still hear the victim screaming and needed to break down the door to get inside.
Once inside, officers said they observed the man continuing to swing the hammer at his wife before they could restrain him and take him into custody.
She reportedly suffered several fractures and was transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital in serious but stable condition.
