BOYNTON BEACH (CBSMiami/AP) — A Good Samaritan jumped into a South Florida retention pond and pulled a car and its drive out.

Deputies say the unidentified victim missed the turn to a McDonalds' drive-thru on Friday and drove down an embankment into a retention pond.

The vehicle was floating to the middle of the pond when the Good Samaritan dove into the water, pulled the vehicle to safety and helped the driver from the car.

Authorities said the male driver may have suffered a medical episode, but did not release any other details.
