Geltzeiler On Whiteside: "I Think His Stats Are Hollow"
Brian Geltzeiler, founder of Hoopscritic.com joined the Hochman, Crowder and Krantz show on 560 WQAM to talk about the Hassan Whiteside/Klay Thompson debate. He also discussed if Whiteside's numbers translate to victories and if there is any center in the NBA that can carry a team.
They debated how many wins Dwyane Wade would give this Heat team and discussed Miami coach Erik Spoelstra being positive after losses and Phil Jacksons comments on LeBron James' 'posse'.
On taking Thompson over Whiteside- "Where do I sign up for that? If I'm the Warriors, I want to plug that hole in the middle but why do I have to give up Klay Thompson for that?"
On Hassan Whiteside- "I just think he is a little bit overrated. I think his stats are hollow. I just think he needs unique support around him."
If putting Wade on this Heat team would make them better- "If you subbed Wade for Waiters, would you be better? No question but it'd be very hard for Wade to carry this team and it'd take a toll on his body."
On Heat players being traded- "I do think Dragic gets moved around the deadline. I severely doubt [that they will trade Whiteside]."
On Tyler Johnson- "He's a turnstile defensively."
