Gables Croc Will Not Be Forgotten

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – The crocodile that died while being trapped following two people being attacked was buried in a special place in Gables by the Sea.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission confirmed the croc nicknamed "Pancho" bit two swimmers in late August.

CBS4 News obtained a picture of the grave for Pancho.

The crocodile created controversy in the community where it was one of two crocodiles that called the area home.

According to officials Pancho, a 13-foot croc, was responsible for biting two people, a man and a woman, as they were swimming in a canal.

Alejandro Jimenez, 26, of Doral, was bitten in the hands and torso. Lisset Rendon, 23, of Miami, was bitten in the back and shoulder area.

FWC said that night video and photos taken of the croc that bit Jimenez and Rendon revealed a distinctive mark on the croc's front leg.
