FWC Officers Wrangle Large Snake From U-Haul Truck

KEY WEST (CBSMiami) – A couple of Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officers turned into snake wranglers recently after responding to a call about a giant snake in a U-Haul rental truck in Key West.

When FWC Officers Mitchell Robb and John Conlin arrived on the scene, the manager of the U-Haul said there was a large snake in the cab of one of their vehicles.

He was right!

It was an eight foot Red Tail Boa Constrictor.

It took Robb and Conlin about half an hour to wrestle and untangle the large snake from the cab of the truck.

The snake was not hurt in the retrieval process.

The FWC Officers turned the Snake over to the SPCA in the Lower Keys.

It is not known if the snake was from the wild or a pet that escaped from its owner.

If anyone knows or has any information about the snake please contact the FWC at (305) 470-6863.
