Ft. Lauderdale Bomb Squad Investigates Suspicious Package

WILTON MANORS (CSBMiami) – A suspicious package resulted in the Ft. Lauderdale bomb squad robot checking out a shopping cart in Wilton Manors Monday afternoon.

According to a spokesperson for Wilton Manors Police Department, a citizen noticed a suspicious item while walking in the area of NE 5^th Avenue and NE 21^st Court.

Officers dispatched to the area agreed the package inside of a shopping cart was suspicious and the bomb squad with Ft. Lauderdale was asked to assist.

The package was detonated and police said it turned out to be nothing of concern.
