Fratello: LeBron James Could Win Finals MVP Even if Cavs Lose
Is LeBron James' superb play in the NBA Finals blossoming into one of the greatest performances in Finals history?
"It has to be without question," NBA analyst Mike Fratello said on the Marc Hochman Show with Zach Krantz. "A team that has lost two of its starters now. A team who at one point was 19-20 vs. a team that almost won 70 games during the regular season. A team who came in as a prohibitive underdog in this Finals series and suddenly they could be 3-0 right now as they face Game 4 coming up.
"I heard someone talking the other night about how hard it would be for a player to win the MVP of the Finals if his team didn't win. I'm not so sure right now that that wouldn't be a given, that LeBron James is the MVP of this Finals based on the first three games."
Averaging 41 points, 12 rebounds, and 8.3 assists, if LeBron keeps up his current output, it wouldn't be unthinkable for him to lock up the NBA Finals MVP regardless of the result.
