FORT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) -- Investigators are looking for answers after a woman was found dead inside a home in Fort Lauderdale Thursday morning.
The investigation started around 10:00 p.m. Wednesday night when police, backed by SWAT, blocked off the intersection of SW Tequesta Street and Charley Avenue to a long driveway leading to the home.
A neighbor says a man and a woman had been living inside the home for some time.
"I actually just saw them yesterday, they were standing outside of the house so they looked fine," said Diego Gallego. Gallego also says the house is abandoned and has no electricity but the man and woman had been living inside for some time.
He recalled countless nights lightening to their arguments.
"I've called police maybe 3-4 times on them because of the fights that they have at 2-3 in the morning. They're pretty violent."
Police have not confirmed whether anyone else was inside the home when they found the unidentified woman's body.
Once police swarmed the block, neighbors said they heard flash bangs around 3:30 a.m. and some couldn't get to their homes because they were blocked by the perimeter.
"I came home around 10:30, 11 o'clock, and all entries to my neighborhood were closed so I had no choice but to work over here on the side where another gentleman was standing and waiting too to go home," explained neighbor Adam Grenadier.
After waiting about six hours, some people were allowed to get back to their homes.
Now, investigators are waiting on a warrant to investigate inside the home.
