Florida Primary Registration Deadline Looming

MIAMI (CBSMiami.com) – If you're hoping to cast a ballot in the 2016 Florida primary, you have just slightly over two weeks to get registered.

February 16th, just two days after Valentine's, is the deadline to register if you want to vote and show your love for a candidate in the presidential preference primary on March 15th.

You can register at county elections offices, public libraries, military recruitment offices or driver's license offices.

In order to register to vote in Florida, you must:

1. Be a Citizen of the United States of America
2. Be a Florida resident
3. Be 18 years old
4. Not have been adjudicated mentally incapacitated with respect to voting in Florida or any other state without having the right to vote restored
5. Not have been convicted of a felony without your civil rights having been restored
6. Provide your current and valid Florida driver's license number or Florida identification card number

Florida's primary is closed, which means only registered Republicans and Democrats can take part in the primary.
