Florida Presidential Primary To Be Winner-Take-All

ORLANDO (CBSMiami/AP) —Florida's presidential primary is going to be a winner-take-all contest likely enjoyed by Senator Marco Rubio or former Florida Governor Jeb Bush.

Party leaders voted Saturday to give all the state's delegates to whoever wins the March 15, 2016, primary. Rubio or Bush would be the favorite to carry their home state in the contest and not having to share delegates would give them an advantage in what's expected to be a crowded Republican field.

The Legislature helped set up the decision by moving the primary from March 1 to March 15, the first date that would allow the party to decide to make the election winner-take-all instead of proportional.
