Florida Man Admits Producing, Selling Ricin
TRENTON, N.J. (CBSMiami/AP) — A Florida man who admitted he produced and sold potentially deadly toxins and planned to kill a woman in London faces up to life in prison.
Jesse William Korff pleaded guilty Tuesday in federal court in New Jersey to producing and smuggling the toxins ricin and abrin, and one count of conspiring to kill a person in a foreign country.
The U.S. attorney's office said the 19-year-old LaBelle, Florida resident used an underground Internet marketplace to sell the toxins to buyers in India and Europe. One of the shipments allegedly went to a woman in London who said she wanted to kill her mother.
Korff was arrested in January after he set up a transaction with undercover agents at a rest stop outside Fort Myers.
His sentencing is scheduled for Nov. 21.
