GAINESVILLE (AP) — No. 8 Florida will be without starting guard Eli Carter for its game against Louisiana-Monroe.
Carter sprained his left foot in practice Thursday and was ruled out earlier in the day.
Carter is a fourth-year junior who transferred from Rutgers in 2013 and missed most of last season while recovering from a broken right leg. He is averaging 14.5 points this season.
He is the second starter ruled out for Friday night's game. Forward Dorian Finney-Smith will miss his second consecutive game with hairline fractures in the index and middle fingers on his left, non-shooting hand.
Florida (1-1) has no timetable for their return, meaning they could miss parts of next week's Battle 4 Atlantis tournament in the Bahamas.
Without them, walk-on Jacob Kurtz and freshman Devin Robinson will start against the Warhawks (2-0).
